SyllabusCentral was founded during the summer of 2008 by Andrew Nadeau and Hagea Silviu. Both Andrew and Hagea are college students and came up with the idea for the website after being frustrated with the quality of the reviews on other professor rating websites. The purpose of the website is to enable the student to form their own opinion on a class, before registering, by viewing the course syllabus as well as reading reviews from their peers.
